Well, I suppose that the topic title says it all.

As you guys have probably noticed, I'm been taking a lot of hiatuses from this place lately, and well, during those times, I've been thinking. I'm just not really sure anymore if I want to come back here. I mean, I really like all you you guys and regard you as friends, but there's been so much going on in my life with College (University) and everything that I'm not certain if I really want to be back here. I dunno. I haven't really felt any connection with my characters lately, and RPing just doesn't have the same flair to me as it used to. I mean, I was looking forward to the Pokemon RP, but we all know how that kind of fell through.

I don't really know what I want by posting this here, I just figured that I'd pick at your guys' minds and see what you think.

It's a bit sad, but if you don't really feel like RP'ing anymore, then you shouldn't do it. It's not like we can't talk to you or anything.

I'm not happy to say this, but I'm going to have to agree with ILS. I don't want the TIA board to die, but it won't help if the Rpers aren't intp it.

I guess I have to agree too. I really like RPing with you and it'll be a real shame to see you go, but I guess if you're really not that into it anymore...

It'd be nice if you could give it another shot, but in the end it's your choice.

See, the problem is that I'll be working full-time over the summer, so I don't really know if things would get any better. I don't know. I'll do some thinking. I might want to rehash some of my characters, or at least their backstories, if I ever get around to it (Most notably Agaranok, who I've rewritten at least 3 times out of dissatisfaction, and may do so yet again).

By all means, rehash and retcon all you want. But I have to say, Agaranok's always seeemed the most... incomplete of your characters to me (apart from The Drifter, of course, but I think that was more a case of saving the details for later). This wasn't really a problem, I've always liked interacting with him, but it's often felt to me like we're not really getting the full story with him.

Does that make sense? I don't really know how to explain it...

It makes complete sense, because I've been kind of writing him as I go. I've only had a general plan for him from the start, and have been writing here and there as I go. And sadly, I feel that he's turned into too much of a Gary Stu-ish character. I've been thinking lately of restarting him entirely, making him more of a Dr. Manhanttan-ish character, alien and disinterested, fearful of his power and alone in his own world.

And with the Drifter, I really want to do something with him, I'm just not certain how to set it up.

If I get back into drawing over the summer, it might help with inspiration for character stories and whatnot.

Ah... Yes, I must confess I've also felt that he's a bit overpowered from time to time, but I tend to try put that aside in the interest of not starting any arguments. But as far as making him fearful of his own power goes, it's a fine line between making it interesting, and it just being annoying like with the Sentry. You need to be careful. The other thing I'm a little concerned about would be how this restart would affect his relationship with Susan, but again, if you feel it's for the best...

Just so you know, I'd be more than happy to offer assistance with your characters if you like. I often confer with ILS and ZeldaFan about my own characters, so if you need someone to bounce ideas off, so to speak...

I know that it's a fine line. I have no desire to make him a character like that. I've been wanting to tone him down a lot for quite some time, but I've never really followed through with it. I'm just not really certain how to go about things.

It might also help if we had a clearer idea of just what the hell Agaranok actually is.
