Who remembers when we all whined like babies on this board?

Anyways,

http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2011/08/london_riots.html

It's still going on. Trying to learn some more background info on the situation. It started off with the shooting of Mark Duggan by police. About 200 people went on a peaceful protest. Guess it escalated into these riots. Stores are being looted and people are being left homeless.

I love how this is an actual part from the article about the guy who got shot.

Quote
A family friend of Duggan, who gave her name as Nikki, said that the dead man's friends and relatives had organised the protest to demand "justice for the family".

"They're making their presence known because people are not happy," she said. "This guy was not violent. Yes, he was involved in things, but he was not an aggressive person."

So she's basically admitting that the guy was a criminal, but refuses to believe that he could've been justifiably shot. Lady, you must be in Egypt.

It's kinda spreading to other places too....

I hear people talking about starting riots around my area.... It's not the best thing to hear.... Though it's only a small town and I don't think these idiots have the balls....

The thing is there isn;t a real reason for any of this.... Just some lame excuse that's been long forgotten by those who run around now.... It's now just riots for the sake of riots.... A bunch of chavs in their teens looting and burning everything they can because the police can't stop them....

Now you've got groups of people who don't want to sit by as their homes and businesses are destroyed patroling the streets and ready to take down anybody they see starting trouble....
