There is no problem with the bird it's just it feels like there could have been more to it.... As for Fi I'd say she states the obvious too much....

Oh so much so.... Low on hearts? That warning sound isn't enough Fi has to tell you you need to find hearts.... Low on baterries? She'll let you know about that too.... Everything must be explained even if it's something she's already explained.... She's worse than Navi....

I just don't consider it much of a chore to just let her out, barely pay attention what she has to say and get it over with. I'm more annoyed by the game stopping each time you get your first piece of a type of treasure in that play session. Especially if it's in the middle of a fight.
And I sometimes wish there was a quicker way of traversing the sky, but that's usually only when my destination is way on the other side of the map.

I don't tend to have much use for bugs, so I don't really bother collecting them unless it's a new species.

Bugs get more useful in Hero mode, where potions are pretty much all you can rely on for healing.
But yeah, there were obviously several gameplay tweaks that would have made the game much less...intrusive, sometimes.
