Just got home........just watched the trailer........and all I have to say is........
SOOOOOOOO AWWWWWWWWSOME!!!!!!!!
I mean........Animal Crossing Villager!? Wii Fit Trainer!? Yes please! I kind of love goofy characters like this! 8ut........Megaman!?!?!?!? And not just any Megaman, 8ut the classic 8lue 8omber from his NES glory days!? YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!

Everything a8out this game looks awesome! The Spirit Tracks 8ased level........that weird 8oxing ring........
Oh! Pit was using an arm weapon from Uprising during one part of the trailer! Wonder what this means for his moveset?
Oh man, I'm just........super happy right now. This is pretty much shaping up exactly how I was hoping.

I have not seen Sonic yet, which, of course, makes me a sad.
But I have to say, NES Megaman does a lot to improve the mood.

Having watched the Smash Bros. Developer Direct, it seems Pit's moveset has indeed been altered, which gives me fresh hope that they might finally sort out Ganondorf. They need to give him a new moveset based on his actual game powers/abilities, and if they still need a Captain Falcon clone, they should give the moveset to an F-Zero villain like Black Shadow or Deathborn. Ganondorf has always been the clone that annoyed me the most.
And judging from the Spirit Tracks stage shown in the trailer and Develop Direct, it's probably a safe bet that Toon Link is no longer playable, even if he's just been replaced by a new version of Link, like maybe the one in LttP 2.

I hope Hades and the rest of the Uprising cast appears like how Fox and Snake had their things.... Maybe have Chrom in there too.... Hopefully Lucas and Pokemon Trainer will return.... Megaman pretty much fulfils most of my hopes anyway.... And of course some really awesome music.... WiiFit Trainer is pretty cool as a joke character....

I'm sure Sonic is practically a shoe-in considering that Nintendo and Sega are 8est 8uddies right now. The real question is whether or not Snake will return.
And yeah, here's to hoping they rework the clones.
8y the way, here's the official site. It's got some new screenshots and stuff. Kind of hope we get a dojo again.

Something interesting........in each of the characters' sections, some of the screenshots are la8elled Wii U, and some are marked 3DS. Except for Wii Fit Trainer and Villager, who only have screen shots la8elled Wii U.
Is this evidence that the different versions will have different rosters? Or is it just a coincidence?

I like the Wii Fit Trainer. She reminds me of Mr. Game & Watch and is a good WTF character, unlike R.O.B.
I don't play Mega Man, but his reveal was pretty great. I just hope Snake returns. And I think Sakurai said the characters would be the same, but the stages would be different.

He said character number would be the same. Whether you can look into that as say same roster or just same number is open to debate I guess. I'm hoping for system exclusives personally. I already love the 3DS stages and I'd love to see some handheld characters pop up (Link from the new game instead of Toon Link, Hades or Palutena, some Pokemon, Fire Emblem, etc.)
I guess I need to officially start the "get a Wii U" fund.

I could imagine WFT at least being Wii U-exclusive and her space being filled by some equivalent on 3DS, but the question is what? I mean, the games are supposed to be able to link up IIRC, so having different rosters might seem a bit weird, but they've also said that there will be version-exclusive stages, so...
I'd be surprised if Villager was Wii U-exclusive, though, especially given the approaching release of New Leaf. And given that Nintendo basically rescued the sequel, I wouldn't be totally surprised if they included Bayonetta, possibly replacing Snake.

No, I just said that given the circumstances surrounding the sequel I wouldn't be surprised if she were included. And I hadn't heard that, but it doesn't surprise me. Especially Pac-Man. He'd probably be the most likely candidate for a Namco representative. And I'd like to see a fight between Villager and Mii. |
