The fact that Knuckles has taken a gigantic change in his overall shape, probably effects everyone's opinion. But at the same time, I think the unexplained bandages on everyone's shoes is a big fashion disaster, as is that ascot or whatever it is that Sonic's wearing.
Sonic's legs keep getting longer too, he'll be on stilts in the next decade if he survives that long.
