So after approximately all of the grueling grind through this bonus dungeon, I finally arrived at the super-duper-ultra-omega bonus final boss and beat him.

...

I guess it's time to go beat the game now.

Aaaand that's that game beat.

I probably liked it more 7 years ago, when it would have been new.

Now though, it's just kind of a grind fest without much in the way of actual difficulty.

I'm playing through the campaign mode of Anarchy Reigns on Hard. And I do mean Hard.

Still, I like this game, if only for the over-the-top aesthetic and the fact that it has the Blacker Baron and Mathilda.

Currently on Black Side Stage 4.

So I beat Anarchy Reigns a long time ago. Coulda had a better story mode. Defo coulda had a better online mode.

So I've been playing Valkyria Chronicles...pretty much beat that, still have yet to 100% (rassem frassem NG+)

And I've also started up FFXIII again, since I never finished it.

I've played it before, so I do have some developed opinions on it.

First of all, most of the characters at the beginning are annoying pieces of ****, save Sazh.

Second, while the fast pace of action in the fights does make for tension, it also means that you have to use autobattle practically all the time, which can lead to the game feeling like you're doing nothing but pressing x and switching paradigms over and over again.

Third would be map design, but everybody and their kid brother has already gone over that. I'll just point out that I find the linearity distracts from all the immensely impressive visuals and vistas, because you get locked into feeling like you should only be heading forward and not paying attention to anything else. Tunnel vision, basically.

yeah, most of the characters are pretty obnoxious. Sazh is good, I liked Snow personally, and Hope gets massively better.

I don't recall using Autobattle that frequently, but then again it's been forever since I played it. I recall hitting a wall at a certain point in the game where I had rethink how I fought, otherwise I'd get destroyed every time.

Map design, yeah I can understand that. The game really is beautiful to look at, but it does a good job of making sure you don't pay too close attention.

Despite all the problems it has, It's actually one of my favorite FF games for some reason. Maybe because I've only ever beat three of them, so my opinion is probably a little slanted, but still.

Trust me, I'm well aware of how they change. This is mostly just me replaying the game since I didn't finish it the first time.

You know, sometimes I forget I even have topics?

Anyways, been playing Evolve some after it went F2P.

It's...definitely a beta, and the bugs abound. That said, I do like playing as the monsters. It's much more tense and self-reliant than playing as the hunters, where it always seems like it's trivial to catch the monster, but victory is dependent on everybody else not **** up.

Turns out that I play the monsters and pretty much only the monsters.

...My 12 game win streak suggests that waiting for pubs to start getting good before I try hunter again was wise.

I SERIOUSLY DREAMT OF FLOYD BEING A KILLER CYBORG WHO RAN 10 TIMES FASTER THAN ANY NORMAL HUMAN, AND THEN KILLED MM, TURNED FEMALE, WENT AFTER ME, AND I DROPPED FROM THE SKYSCRAPER! IT HURTED, BUT I AWAKE CALMLY, THINKING I WOULDN'T SEE YOU AGAIN.

A long time ago I promised myself I'd finish, XCOM: EW on Impossible.

A few days ago, I decided to keep that promise.

...

Jesus **** have I been save scumming. XCOM's infamous starting difficulty is the real deal, as you almost always lose runs within the first two months, when you haven't yet got your economy and security network off the ground.

Still, I'm motoring along fairly well, and am just about to finish the first big objective in the Alien Base. Not before I unlock all the plasma weapons I can, of course, but it's looming.
