The list I came up with yesterday was like

Super Smash Bros.
Majora's Mask
Undertale
Paper Mario TTYD
Mass Effect 2
Metroid Prime
Destiny


but then a little bit after I'd come up with that I realized Dark Souls wasn't on there, and I was like "hmm"

it feels like 7 is pretty restrictive and obviously was in mind more for character count than anything

Yeah definitely agree with 7 being weird and restrictive. I've played 6/7 of yours and like 6/7 so good stuff.

Whenever I make those type of lists I feel like I put too many older games in it, though that could be because most of the genres I like the most have been dying out these days or are restricted to indie territory.

They're usually the games people have the best memories with too so I'm sure that furthers putting them on there. The newest game on mine is from 2011 and as of right now I don;t think there's any console games from this gen I'd consider a favorite ever thought here's some I've dug a lot. Some 3DS games come closer.

It's Majora's Mask for me, tbh. While I certainly liked Metroid Prime, it just never quite spoke to me the way MM did.
