Metroid Dread thoughts:

- Regular power shot doors and charge shot doors do not have enough visual differentiation
- Some of the shinespark puzzles are irritatingly tight, though I guess they are satisfying to pull off
- The music is pretty disappointing. It's ambient but not terribly memorable.
- I wish you could turn off the hint system (even if it's not as bad as it could be)

Aside from those things, I really liked it. Movement feels great, the boss fights were all cool, I'm a fan of the difficulty and plan on playing Hard Mode, and there's just something satisfying about bouncing around one of them there metroidvania maps. I've seen some criticism of it but I liked the art direction a lot. Loved the depth in each room and how the environments are built out generally. I think most of all, Samus still rules and playing as Samus feels great.

Good video game. Hope we get another one sooner.

gonna wait until around christmas for this one but everything i've seen looks pretty sick, i'm excited, samus returns was great and this looks like it'll be a good follow up to that
