Now that Uprising is over, I think I need to find another game to break up my time. Been getting some serious MMR fatigue with OW anyway, and I think I just have more fun when I've got something else to play.

Nier: Automata is kinda at the top of my list, but Prey also comes out this weekend and people are saying good things about that based on the demo and stuff. It's a busy weekend for me so I probably won't make a move on anything until next week.

I have a buddy who is hugely into the Nier games and my understanding is that Automata works better if you also played the first one. I don't know how true that is but that's something to consider.

Hmm, I'll check with my friend who played it to confirm, but I had heard the opposite about Automata. Namely that it wasn't as important to play the first games. I don't really have any desire to play the first one regardless, so I'd probably look up a synopsis or something.

What I've heard of Prey so far (and I actually watched like the first hour, sort of accidentally) is that it's trying to do a spiritual successor to System Shock kind of thing, like even moreso than BioShock. IDK. I definitely want to read some reviews to see if the game holds up past peoples' initial impressions.

everything i've read about the meaty details of automata implies that it's not important, but an LP of the first nier might be a good read regardless, especially over actually playing it. that game isn't the unmitigated trash fire drakengard 1 was, but it's still pretty much a slog to play lol

Decidedly meh. It's pretty clearly a Souls-clone, and it looks like it wants to go back to Brown Is Real-isms. Doesn't even have the weight and meatiness that combat in DS has.

Bout the only thing I can say I like is that the character designs pop quite well, and the enemies look very clean, unlike Souls' decidedly grimy aesthetic.

Went into No Limits on OW with some friends and we were all playing as Officer D.Va. Fun Police Squadron in full effect. Most fun I've had playing the game in a short while.

Also I started Furi the other night, currently on the third boss. I'm bad at parrying (shocker) and that's probably gonna be a dealbreaker.

I beat the third boss last night and got close to beating the next guy, too, but his final phase is crazy.
