I have unlocked Inkling, Ness, Falcon, K. Rool, ZSS, and Zelda mostly through playing classic mode and peaking at the story mode
it's 2:00 a.m. so I'm gonna sleep now

Slogging through classic mode seems more fast than just camping in versus mode to unlock everyone it seems.
Just bummed I have to play Bayo then Little Mac and THEN Olimar yet to finally unlock Wolf apparently. Also My Music is gonna take forever with all of the stages, especially since they put a sliver of bar for everything by default it feels.

I was having enough fun that I don't see it as a slog (though the credits shooter thing was starting to get old after five times in a row).
I'm not feeling the rush to have everyone unlocked in the first 24 hours, though.

Apparently after you fight a challenger, you can go to the home screen on the Switch and then close your software, as long as you don't start another match. When you open the game back up, you can start a new match and get another newcomer. It's a lot faster that way.

I liked it too, I just didn't want to do it five times in a row. After tonight I have Bowser Villager Ice Climbers Wii Fit Trainer Young Link Pit Tonight I was mostly doing regular matches, and I've been trying to get at least one match with each new character I unlock. Inkling is actually pretty neat. The Ink mechanic is a nifty thing to have to keep track of. Villager is, uh, ridiculous? The tree attack makes me laugh. I don't think I would ever play him under normal circumstances. Zelda feels better than she ever has, although the Black Knight attack seems much less practical than transforming into a ninja. |
