Tails version is harder since he can't go super until the second part of the game

Meh, I'm doing great so far. I just finished chasing down Eggman while the ground behind me started collapsing. But I think I'm only missing on Super Emerald.

Well apparently for Tails it's the last part. For Sonic I still had the Doomsday Zone afterwards though.

Yeah. Now I'm just gonna go nab the Super Emeralds I need, and I'll play as Knuckles later.

There doesn't seem to be much of a difference between Super Knuckles and Hyper Knuckles

Geez, I don't know how anyone could just sit down and play that game all the way through. I mean, I couldn't do it without eventually getting bored along the way. Eh, maybe something's wrong with me.

I think the game had more replayability than you see at first glance. You have 4 different ways to play through the game, speed, flight, power, or multiplayer, and then you can gain 14 different emeralds per character... And you can just test yourself. I personally keep trying to have 50 rings when I beat Death Egg Zone Act 2's first boss so I can go Hyper Sonic against the giant mech.

The problem for me is, the game just isn't any fun until I get to the later levels (ie, just after Sandopolis, the worst zone in the game) and that's pretty far into the game. If I can just make it that far without getting bored out of my mind, then yeah, I can go all the way.
As far as replayability goes, that wore out for me years ago. I've had this game ever since I was in kindergarten, and I just graduated from high school. >_>

Well if you finished the game, you can select whichever level you please and start there. I haven't had the game as long, only like 7 years, give or take one. The reason I started playing was to confirm something I read, then I got caught up in it and completed it with Sonic. Then Tails. Then I went and replayed through with Sonic having Hyper Sonic from the start, etc, etc. I don't expect to be playing it much longer, afterwards I can play Sonic CD =P

Uh, yeah, about the going back and playing the whichever level you want thing....I can't do that. See, back when I owned the game on Genesis, my older brothers had a save file 100% complete for every character. Then, for whatever reason, I had to be the little kid I was and delete all of the files. And then, from out of nowhere, our Genesis became unable to save anything.
So then, I got Sonic Jam for the Saturn. A nice little replacement, but I can't save anything on that either without that bulky, impossible to find memory cartridge. I mean, really, memory cartridge?
So...yeah. And uh, Sonic CD. That's a good game. Well, with the JP soundtrack anyway.
