"Last Comic Standing" is a show that has been entertaining American viewers for four years. As of 2007, it has gone international. The American Idol of Stand Up, it has brought unknowns together to compete for an NBC contract and 250,000 dollars. Only few have won (5 seasons) and after that, they vanished. Here are past winners.
Dat Phan: Season 1
An Asian-American, he was the first winner of Last Comic Standing. After that, he really never came up again, though he was a great comedian.
John Heffron: Season 2
The "Man-Child" of comedy, he normally centered jokes on children and things we could relate to.
There isn't anything of him doing Stand Up on Youtube, so I guess he just never got his big break.
Alonzo Bodden: Season 3
Season 3 was cancelled before it's very last episode, but it was revealed that Alonzo won by a very close vote. Season 3 was actually a get together of comics from Season 1 and 2, Alonzo being Runner Up of the second season. He beat out Heffron and Phan, making him the King of Comedy. And it shows.
Josh Blue: Season 4
Josh has lived a great life. Soccer player, artist, and Stand-Up comedian, he suffers from cerebral palsy, never letting it stop him. He was the second person with a mental disorder to win a reality competition. (The first being a guy on Big Brother.)
Jon Reep: Season 5
Season 5 had comics from America, Austrailia, England, and Canada. Representing North Carolina was Jon Reep, a comic that had his calling at a football game where he discovered that he loved to make people laugh. His act centers around physical comedy, and it won him the hearts of the entire world.

Dat Phan had his own comedy special.
I wouldn't say they vanished. Dat, Bodden, and Reep are all pretty active. The other two, not so much.

Blue is a regular on Mind of Mencia and goes on lots of tours. (He was in my town last week!)
As for Heffron... poor guy.
