Tough to describe for sure.
For me, at least, its typically a ten plus minutes song. Epic isn't necessarily quality for me, its just... a part of quality, I guess.

For me, epic songs are ones that create atmosphere. Relaxing songs, songs that are paced, and songs that are merely "good" rarely can be epic. Epic is something like The Final Countdown, O Fortuna, Requiem of a Dream, etc.
