well, he did name cyber sleuth (which i doubt is that good of a localization because lol bandai namco, but i also doubt it's anywhere near as bad as this) and that SAO game (which is legit bad) instead of like, an 8-4 translation

like, his opinion is still delusional as hell and probably borne out of some misplaced desire to give the game more credit than it deserves, but it's not egregious i guess

Looking up screenshots of Cyber Sleuth errors, there's typos and mistakes like writing the wrong digimon name but it passes the very basic line of sounding like English

That SAO game is basically the only thing that's equally bad

yeah, i'm confident he's just trying to defend that translation's maidenly honor by making ri-don-culously bad comparisons. that's weird and dumb. but, as far as i'm concerned at least, it's not anywhere near as worthy of a reaction like "please fuck yourself straight off this planet" as saying it's better than a bunch of other "controversial" localizations

and let's be honest, both you and me know that person exists somewhere.

remember when every weeaboo here had a lucky star profile theme? mistakes of youth, man

god that show sucked. like, it was cute and made for some charming gifs, but it was just so insufferably boring. but everyone just went nuts over it and i never understood why. because i was, like, 15 or something when i watched it, i wasn't sure if it was because i "didn't get it" or something. i would have felt vindicated to know that, 9 years after the show aired, contemporary opinion vehemently agrees with my appraisal and that nobody gives a damn about it anymore.

dark fucking days

I think the Lucky Star profile wave happened right as I first started posting here and before I watched any sort of anime at all so it was a bad first impression for at least like one or two people whoops.

back in the dark days when i liked moe stuff

funny enough, though, lucky star was one of the things that ended what had been a 2-3 year break from anime. was like, a dweeby 14 year old who saw like, SA2's profile theme (RIP SA2, the first casualty I've bothered recognizing since I've returned) and thought it was super cute and wanted to watch it. and then it turned out to be awful lol

and then exposure to people like ILS made me watch more shows that i wouldn't be caught dead watching these days. like nanoha lol
