It has gotten worse.

Alicia and Beth are dead. Priscilla has gone berserk. The Rafaela/Luciela beast has awakened and is churning out grunts and viruses. Riful may be dead and Dauf is about to die. Raki, the only potential restraining bolt for Priscilla, is infected and has been captured by the Organization. Nobody can defeat Priscilla, and she is basically on a rampage with the intention killing everything she can find.

oh **** oh ****

I'm finally up to date with Claymore.

Well, you can hope when it comes to invincibility for protagonists. If a protagonist is dying and if it's actually presented in a way that implies that the protagonist will live, she will. Though if they've clearly been bisected or decapitated, they are certainly dead.

I adore how 35 chapters after the time skip, every single heroic character has survived, with the exception of maybe Renee, not that she's important. So far, only villains are dying.

But Raki's going to be a horrifying human experiment now.

...yeah. Chances are high that he won't be a hero anymore when that happens.

I am now watching Claymore. lol

I've read that Raki is present in scenes that he's not supposed to be in, and now that he has a (whiny) voice actor, he's a lot easier to hate than he was in the manga. This is really going to suck in comparison to the manga.

EDIT: I have discovered that of all characters, Irene is the fifth most popular. Why?

Irene, Irene...wasn't she the murderous psychopath that Clare sliced and diced when she first got the arm?

The Japanese are **** up.

She's the woman who gave Clare that arm. >_>

Regardless, she was in only five chapters and had minimal characterization in three. Yet she beats out Jean, Helen, Deneve, Riful and several other, more prolific and likable characters.

Oh. So the guy who wrote Claymore also wrote Angel Densetsu, which I've wanted to read for some time now. I really did not expect that. >_>

Then again, Ikuno looks like Clare and Ryoko looks like Cynthia, so uh, whoops?

EDIT: HOLY **** IS THIS UGLY

EDIT: EDIT: http://www.onemanga.com/Angel_Densetsu/4/33/

lol. I almost want to meet this guy.

Yeah, I read Claymore before I started Angel Densetsu as well. It came as kind of a surprise, but his art quickly gets better.

I'd say more that he somewhat recycled the basic design of two of his main characters from a previous work, but gave them very different personalities, because he either had trouble designing new characters (as his ways of designing characters are rather unique, and you can only pretty much tell Claymores apart by hairstyle anyways so it'd inevitably end up getting used) or wanted to show his readers a little fanservice.

And when I first read that, my reaction was "My god, no wonder I love this guy's manga so much!"

So pretty much what you thought.

The Claymore anime did suck, one big reason was the ending was rushed

And I agree, Irene was one of the best characters in the series.

Oh, I never even watched the anime. I knew it was going to get a crappy ending because the series was still running and it was monthly. That's a large part of why I generally only read manga. That and the fact that my computer can't really stream and I can barely find episodes anyways...

But I'm going to have to kiiiind of agree with Mananac here. She was badass, but was, in the end, a bit part. There are much better characters in that series. Let's see if I can name a few. Clare, Teresa, Riful, Duph, Isley, Helen, Deneve, Raki, Miria, Galatea...okay, I'm out. I can see why they'd have trouble with popular characters, there aren't that many with any actual characterization.
