I feel as though there is such great character diversity in the Marvel universe that I can't not vote for it.

Tough one. Gotta go with Marvel. DC is great, but there are more characters I like and know/read about in the Marvel world.
There's also Ghost Rider. And Taskmaster.

I've always been more of a Marvel guy than a DC guy, personally.

I'm fully expecting to be in the minority here, but right now I find myself getting kind of sick of/exasperated by Marvel. The films and cartoons are still good, but the comics themselves... To me DC just currently feels a bit fresher thanks to the New 52.

See, I like them 8oth quite a 8it, 8ut I have to say, I like Marvel more. I can't really put it into words why either. It's just kind of this gut feeling, this vaguely emotional reason that's hard to ver8alize........
I do partially 8lame it on Marvel just seemingly having more memora8le characters for me. Especially with the movies that are out right now, I can name several Marvel characters that I am rather fond of, 8ut not nearly as many DC ones.

Years ago I would have said Marvel, no contest. Other than Batman (which is admittedly great) I didn't like anything the DC Universe had to offer.
Then I started reading comics, and I think for a while I actually shifted to DC. The New 52 is responsible for getting me into reading monthly ongoing comics, and if you included Vertigo under DC then it becomes even more their win. My favorite comic run of all time, Alan Moore' Swamp Thing, is DC.
But then Marvel did Marvel Now and really won me back. Thor: God of Thunder is everything I could ever want out of a comic, Avengers is neat, and Daredevil continues to be glorious. Its all going really awesome, and while I enjoy the New 52 still, the cracks are starting to show for some of the titles; creators are leaving after disputes in big numbers, the novelty is starting to fade, etc. There are still some great titles (Snyder's Batman is generally great and Swamp Thing survived a writer transition), but I'm more Marvel right now. My budget only allows for so many titles and its a 4 to 1 Marvel to DC ration right now.

 Floyd is the devil.
I SERIOUSLY DREAMT OF FLOYD BEING A KILLER CYBORG WHO RAN 10 TIMES FASTER THAN ANY NORMAL HUMAN, AND THEN KILLED MM, TURNED FEMALE, WENT AFTER ME, AND I DROPPED FROM THE SKYSCRAPER! IT HURTED, BUT I AWAKE CALMLY, THINKING I WOULDN'T SEE YOU AGAIN.
